Arguement: A victim of their own academic standards? The BE is the only appropriate home for them academically in the region, but don't have the money to get their facilities up to that level and the BE is not willing to take any moveup without top notch facilities.
I cannot see them jumping to FBS to join the MAC like Buffalo.
IMO they would be smart to take the d**n the torpedoes approach and jump to FBS as a football Indy. (I know no one likes that idea) Just stay in A10 for everything else until they establish themselves. At minimum, Temple, Buffalo, BC, Army, and Navy will be eager to play them every year.
I think it is entirely reasonable that they could in short order (within 10 years) manufacture their own solid FBS conference with schools like Army, Navy, Temple, Buffalo, Ohio, Miami U, and Charlotte.
