Possible Football Venues: Engleman Field on Campus has a capacity of 3,000 and no room for expansion. Miller Park is a poor venue for football. No high school stadiium seats more than 8,000. Any football stadium would have to be off campus, probably downtown.

NFL Killzone? No. Chicago Bears are in another metro market completely at 100 miles away. Green Bay Packers are even further away.

Other Major Pro Sports? MLB Milwaukee Brewers. NBA Milwaukee Bucks.

Maybe they could use the Brewers stadium in the fall, are they even thinking of a program?

If the MVC publics get their stuff together en route to FBS, UWM could be one of those schools that could sneak into a much higher profile basketball conference by having football-it's an excellent geographic fit. If that doesn't happen, being in the Missouri Valley Football conference would be a very real possibility.

I live in Texas so cut me a break on this, but why couldn't they build a stadium AND parking at the intersection of E Edgewood Ave and N. Maryland Ave? There seems to be a quite large field there. Google maps show that to be University land. To me that would seem a perfect location... if the will is there.

BB att is suprisingly healthy considering all the competition w/ 5 year average of 4481 at U.S. Cellular Arena (12,700 capacity).

I agree that this is a good potential FBS school, but with killzones you have to be prepared for the basketball & baseball attendance to always be a bit stunted.

Football or not, the MVC would be smart to pursue these guys.

Neighborhood would never allow a football stadium of any size on campus. You are talking about Milwaukee's "fashionable east side" here. The city also shot down just about every reasonable location for a soccer stadium, so that won't get built either. Needs to shed "commuter school" label. Has the size, but not the $$$ support right now. Could change over time. Milwaukee is a football town without a football team (Packers in Green Bay, Wisconsin Badgers in Madison), so if UWM made the jump they could do well in the community.
