This could have ramifications for sports.

Comcast owns Versus, who has really stepped up their sports coverage in the last three years

Renaming, getting NHL, adding Indy Car, and in college sports the Pac 10 and Mountain West.

Under Comcast, would NBC get back into the college sports game? And would there be anyone to land? Wouldn't their only option if they wanted college sports be the Pac 10... or throw money at Notre Dame to form a conference?

versus isn't on the air anymore. just a disclaimer saying that comcast way over charges them and they don't wanna pass on comcasts unfair prices to us. I have Directv so I don't know if you guys with other cable have vs.

JPSchmack,thanks for posting this subject.
Despite denials by Comcast who apparently are NOT technically trying to buy NBC Universal from GE although the end affect would be about the same, they apparently are still in negotiations to buy 51% interest in a "spin-off" GE company that would include at least some of the current NBC Universal assets.Link to updated Wire story at http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2009/10/ ... 58004.html
