Appalachian State is a step closer to playing football at the NCAA's bowl-division level.

A feasibility study committee that has been evaluating a potential move for ASU from the Football Championship Subdivision to the Football Bowl Subdivision will hold a conference call at 4 p.m. Monday to conduct a vote toward making a recommendation to ASU chancellor Ken Peacock.

According to a source close to ASU's athletics department, the committee is expected to recommend a move to the FBS. The recommendation will then be considered by Peacock, and his recommendation would then be taken to ASU's board of trustees.
