So you get a letter sent by the NCAA and all of the FBS conferences. The letter states that you have been selected to form a new football-only division within the NCAA. Here's the format they ask for: 48 teams split into 6 regional conferences of 8. The schedule would be: 7 conference games + 1 game against a team from each of the other conferences = 12 regular season games. All of the other sports (basketball, baseball, etc.) maintain their conferences as they are now. You have a limited time to choose which 48 schools will make the transition and which conferences they will belong. They ask you to make your selections on brand name, money, and football power. Who do you select?

My Take:
PACIFIC: Washington, Washington St, Oregon, Oregon St, California, Stanford, UCLA, USC
SOUTHWEST: Arizona, Arizona St, Colorado, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech
SOUTHEAST: Arkansas, LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi St, Alabama, Auburn, Florida St, Tennessee
ATLANTIC: Miami (FL), Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Clemson, South Carolina, North Carolina, North Carolina St
MIDWEST: Kansas St, Missouri, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Notre Dame
NORTH: Michigan, Michigan St, Ohio St, Penn St, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Virginia Tech

Washington State and Arizona State join the Mountain West for football only, who also lands BYU for football only to get to a 10/14 alignment.
