Man, I can't believe I forgot these :o
UT/ Houston
A&M/Houston.
Miami/Florida (there is some dispute about whether or not this rivalry got killed due to expansion or not)
Didn't even think of them until Lash made his post. ;D

Although UGA and Clemson have never been in the same conference, expansion played a part in the stoppage of the rivalry. When the SEC went to an 8 game schedule Doley more or less stopped the game from being annual.

Although Clemson has only won this game 17 out of 61 times and 9 of those 17 were before 1915, the rivalry is really intense. They hate each other.

I know that this board is mainly for football, but why the hell can't Maryland and Georgetown play each other in basketball. Completely obscene.

Here's this:

LSU-Tulane (though dominated by LSU)
Rice-Houston (though playing again - same town)
Maryland-Navy (same state - really close)
South Carolina-North Carolina (neighbor states)
South Carolina-NC State (ended with even record)
South Carolina-Georgia Tech
Georgia Tech-Tennessee (was long term rivalry)
Georgia Tech-Auburn
Georgia Tech-Alabama
Mississippi State-Southern Miss
Ole Miss-Southern Miss
Princeton-Rutgers (the oldest on record)
Notre Dame-Indiana (same state)
Ohio State-Cincinatti (did play last yr. - close)
Texas-Arkansas
Arkansas State-Arkansas (needs to get started)
Arkansas-Oklahoma or Oklahoma State
Penn State - all their old eastern rivals

The Georgia Bulldogs have a lot of intense rivals: Ga Tech, So. Car., Fla., Alabama, Clemson, Tennessee, Auburn, etc.

Though I wish Ole Miss and Miss. State did play USM, sadly, the real reason is....what else? $$$$$$$$$$$$$

The Eagles' stadium seats a little under 35,000, while the stadiums in Oxford and Starkville seat better than 55,000. It's a Mexican standoff. Ole Miss and MSU don't want to play Southern Miss unless it's at home because they feel they would put most of the 35,000 in USM's stadium for a game in Hattiesburg anyway. USM's actual average attendence is much lower. But, USM doesn't want to play State or Ole Miss unless it's on a home and home basis. Being more of a traditionalist, I wish they'd just play anyway. Perhaps in Jackson? Doubtful. I'll just keep waiting.

The reason isn't only money--it's also the fact that USM has won 5 of 7 vs Ole Miss and 12 of 16 vs MSU.

Basically, Ole Miss and MSU really suck.

Don't believe Ole Miss sucks? Make sure and watch CBS on 11/22.

Ya'll might not know, but ECU and UNC-Wilmington had a heated rivalry in the CAA for years.....That is until ECU Joined Conference USA...The two teams haven't played each other in basketball since then...

DNC, GT-Auburn was definitely a long term rivalry. While GT-Alabama was ended due to a heated dispute, Auburn continued to play GT until a few years before FSU joined.
ND-Indiana was never a big series, because IU dropped a lot of the games. Maybe that has changed since they last played but I doubt it.

PSU had heated rivalries with Pittsburgh(in-state rivalry that needs to return, not PSU-Temple), Syracuse, and ND. PSU also had a rivalry with Alabama that was very similar to OU-Nebraska. I'd like to see PSU-Alabama come back for sure.
