I keep seeing people referring to a buy out clause for schools leaving a conference. It does not make sense. A school might have a buy-out clause with a coach. They have a contract for a specific period of time. A conference is a group of schools that agree to compete against each other. Long terms contracts may have been signed to play FB or BB games against conference opponants, but they do not have to be renewed.
What gives? ???
