The SEC has little to gain by expanding unless their trying to further the playoff idea. More traditional rivalries will be played less and less. A conference larger than 12 is unwieldy and eventually leads to distancing "emotionally" by the two divisions. I think it generally would lead not to a playoff, but to two conferences. History always repeats itself. Everyone knows this. And yes, I went to an SEC school and I am very in touch with the alumni base and the general feelings of things. We don't want any more teams. Alumni, my friends, wield the real power of a school, not it's officers. You've got nothing without alumni support.
