Does anyone know of a web site that lists all of the D-1A state-owned universities? If you go out to the individual university or state government web sites, you get a lot of different verbiage -- state university, state-related, state-operated, state-supported, state-assisted, ...

If there isn't a web listing of all the state-owned schools, can someone clarify the other verbiage categories for me? I suspect that would be difficult, since each state and university situation may differ, but I had to ask. Thanks for any help that you can provide!

they have a college search engine which allows you to get a listing of schools based on being public and private.
