Baseball joined the WAC a few months ago also.

If Sac State gets their new football and basketball venues, they'll probably join the WAC for all sports.

The WAC must be waiting for Sac State to move to I-A.

I wouldn't be surprised if the WAC wants Sac State... but it's evident that the NCAA isn't going to drop the 1-AA entity (maybe the name), so Sac State has to significantly grow the football fanbase. I'm not totally sure they don't have to grow it before the final decision comes on committing money to stadium renovation.

I could easily see the NCAA dropping the Iaa entity.

I see Black Gold's post on another thread and some posts on other boards (an intriguing one on Big Soccer, oddly enough) that mention that, come this very month, the NCAA isn't going to come close to addressing 1-AA in total.

I'd at least like to think that I'm a "be here now" type of guy, and the stuff that IS on the agenda at the end of the month (modification to a two-year evaluation of attendance being the "big" change, since I don't regard a name change as anything big) is something designed to last a long time. Since the agenda is limited, the outcome can only be limited. End of story.

I guess we'll see what they actually discuss and what they don't when that time comes.

It won't be until Sacramento State joins the WAC full time.
