That is the strong wish of UCF. However, I think they just announced what the plan is, and have not yet said that they have funding in place to proceed IIRC.

I don't know the Orlando area terribly well. The Citrus Bowl has a large capacity, but I think it is showing its age, and the amenities may not be so hot from what I read. Or perhaps the school officials think they can get better attendace from students if the games are held on campus.

It's probably just a matter of tiem before it gets built.

Is USF considering building an on campus stadium?

Not aware of any such plans at this time.

They currentlly play in Raymond James Stadium, home of the NFL Tampa Bay Bucs. It is just south of the airport and has the Pirate Ship in the end zone.

It obviously has way more seating capacity than USF needs right now, but who knows... things change, and it is a nice place to watch a game.

And playing at Raymond James provides USF and its conference brethren access to the Outback Bowl...no wait, actually it doesn't...

Tulane will need a new stadium now that Hurricane Katrina has damaged the Louisiana Superdome.

Stick a fork in New York. APPLE BOWL is done. It is history for now. The Giants and Jets have finalized a deal to jointly own and build a new stadium at the Meadolands in NJ. There are possible plans to add a retractable roof in the future however the $200 million roof is not in the immediate plan because of the additional cost. NJ will not contribute to the project and the joint Jet-Giant partnership cannot afford that part of the project at this time. There will be 80,000 seats though. I'll bet that ND is already lining up games with Rutgers, Conn., and possible Army for the stadium for their East Coast Alumni.

With no tenants available, there will not be a Domed stadium in NY for the future projected Applebowl. The BE better start pushing the Toronto Bowl and a bowl in Indianapolis for additional bowl sites closer to home. CUSA played the "close to conference bowl market game" again this week and walked off with 5 bowl committments. Wake up Transman make the BE proud and get on the stick. They should also jump on the band wagon with the Jets, Giants, And NJ government to get the dome on the new stadium for a return to the GARDEN STATE BOWL on NEW YEAR'S EVE. As for now the ND EASTERN BOWL TOUR will be held there at least ever other year with 50K alumni and friends. The BE team may get a 30K ticket allotment since they will be the home team.

If the new Medowlands stadium gets the Dome financed by the NFL as you say TS2, then that will certainly give the BE another chance at a local bowl in the future. A NYE bowl would be a good draw with the festivities in NYC later that night. ;) :D ;D :) :) 8-) :-*

The BE should still work on Indianapolis and Toronto. If CUSA can secure 5 bowl games in their backyard, the BE should be able to do the samething with out ND on its coattails or vice-a-versa.

It looks like to me that Tulane needs a new stadium since the Louisiana Superdome is in disfunctional.

Did you know that Akron is getting a new stadium?

Rice University DEFINITELY needs to reduce its stadium capacity. The size of their recent crowds in the 70,000 seat stadium is really sad. Of course so is their team especially this year.

Tulane can use TAD GORMLEY which is in the City Park area, it holds about 27,000 or so and TUlane has played a couple of games their in recent years.
