footballgod,
Not bad. I see where you're coming from. Do you ever consider moving charter members like Clemson or LSU, seeing as these are dream scenarios? For instance, in my favorite dream scenario of the moment, the ACC adds PSU, Louisville and Vandy and begins stoking even more rivalries with the BE and SEC. I've given up going all the way across the nation with these, though. SO many schools that will either drop off or move up when all this is said an done, and the geography/traditions become frustrating. My goal, though, would be to establish 8 or 12 12-member conferences for 1-A.
Stay tuned, though. Word from ATL is that the invitations to VT and UConn are for show; The schools are expected to decline but this gives UVA an out for approving the other three. Would be nice, though. I've already romanticized about this alignment on other boards.
The schools may not decline. VT & UConn both want to continue to be in the BCS, and if they have to take a short term PR hit, they'll take it. UConn has to worry about paying off that new stadium, and VT just wants to continue to be in the BCS. However, I do feel that the invitations to VT & UConn are a ploy to force UNC to vote for expansion. Ever thought about that, Gunnerfan?? ;)
