The mwc and cusa east have view of their institutions that clearly exceeds reality. These idiots constantly attack the be.

The almighty BE conference. Get a grip on reality, TS2. MWC in football terms is at least equal or a little below the BE. CUSA views are other than Louisville, the rest of CUSA schools have been better than Cincinnati and USF in football. I would be pregnant doging and moaning too if schools that I used to beat or equal to had the ability to get an automatic bid to a BCS game.

No tigershark, not the mwc, not even the whole wac, just nmsu. You got this sheep fixation the wrong way. Lashette supports peta & is kind to animals.

Tigershark, we know you luv sheep & cowboys so much and yet, a BE fanatic; your dilemma is understandable. Maybe expand your focus. Lashette will guide you. Here are some suggestions of some teams to follow:

Pro - There is always the St. Louis Rams.

College - Cam the Ram of Colorado State (That is directly in the mwc , Tigershark)
How about Navy? The Midshipmen have Bill the Goat (once El Cid). Didn't you tell everyone, Tigershark, Navy was an Associate Big East member? I guess goats aren't sheep, but close aren't they?

How about North Carolina? The Tarheels have a Ram as a mascot (Ramses).

Cowboys: Tigershark, there is Oklahoma State in Stillwater, and a mwc team, Wyoming in Laramie. Lashette has always been a big hit in the taverns of Laramie.

Further reading recommended for Tigershark: Three Billy Goats Gruff (The fairy tail from Norway); even has a troll in the tale!
http://www.pitt.edu/~dash/type0122e.html#gruff

Since you luved Brokeback Mountain so much, Tigershark, I recommend another film. Out on the Range (a film by Ang Lee), a story of a love affair between a ranch hand and a rodeo rider. For more details visit:
http://film.guardian.co.uk/features/featurepages/0,4120,1650490,00.html

The fabulous Lashette is pleased to help!

TS2 you may have been watching too much farmboys hardcore. I hear it can be an addiction but these fantasies about sheep, cowboys, and the wild west have become an obsession. Talking/typing contempt for what you lust for will not resolve your confusion.

there's also the east coasters Rhode Island Rams and the Virginia Commonwealth Rams.

btw. Tigershark might like this movie. Its called Night on Earth. Its 5 separate vingettes of 5 different taxicab drivers giving people a ride. They all take place in 5 different cities around the world at the very same moment in time. The cities are Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Rome, and Helsinki.

The Rome one has a Catholic Bishop getting a taxi ride with an Italian cabbie. The cabbie then notices that he is a Bishop and then begins to confess his sins. One of the sins he describes in great detail is when he made love to his sister-in-law, while his brother was gone. Then he talks about his first love when he was an adolenscent. His first love was a female sheep. He then talks in great detail about making love to the sheep. At this point in time, the Catholic Bishop dies in the back seat to a heart attack. The driver was so animated with his stories while driving he swerves around so much that when the Bishop tries to take his pills due to a chest pain, he loses the pill out of his hands and can not reach for it and dies:

Tigershark really would love that scene of the movie:

I got during the holidays the ESPN College Football Encyclopedia, edited by Michael MacCambridge, 2005 ESPN Books, NY. On each major University, it provides the history on how each campus adapted their respective mascots. While some campuses mascots sound unusual, often knowing the story behind the choice makes sense.
It also has the long term individual records of each University, their rivalries, bowl histories, etc. It is interesting reading for those looking for certain details.

The Mountain West Conference, emerging from the old WAC, began play in 1999. Big East football play began in 1991. The MWC has added one in that time-frame, the Big East underwent major changes with defections, additions, and an expulsion. While other major conferences have had major changes (Big 12-[8] in '96, Penn State to the B10 in '93, So. Carolina and Arkansas to the SEC in '92, FSU to ACC in '92, plus recent Miami, VPI, and BC as ACC additions), these were added schools to decades old conferences. The characterization of these older conferences were well determined, though significantly impacted and developed by the growth and the power of particular schools. Certainly, FSU had a huge impact on ACC fb, for example.
I doubt the MWC and the BE within a few years will be exactly as they are now. Their future will be impacted somewhat by who they may add. While the BE may not have any more defections, their options for adding look limited in terms of their standards of preference. On the other hand, it is conceivable the MWC could lose a school or two if the PAC 10 unlikely expanded or there was some kind of shift with the Big 12. However, the MWC is in a position to add another or two quality WAC schools if they determine it is feasible.
C-USA will change again too in time. They may become even more based in a southwesterly direction.

Tigershark, found this poem for you------

Sheep are rather bashful,
Sheep are rather shy.
I asked a sheep the reason
but it wouldn't say why.

Meish Goldish

You welcome, Lashette.
