With the impending departure of Seattle University for Division I, the GNAC and Pacific West will be down to a total of 16 teams.

Pacific Division:
University of Alaska-Anchorage
University of Alaska-Fairbanks
Western Oregon University
Notre Dame de Namur University

Washington Division:
Central Washington University
Western Washington University
Seattle Pacific University
Saint Martin's University

Mountain Division:
Northwest Nazarene University
Montana State University - Billings
Grand Canyon University
Dixie State College of Utah

You could also do a North-South split with the 2 Alaska schools, the 4 Washington schools, NNU and MSUB forming the North Division and the other 8 schools forming the South Division.

The Pacific West has been at 16 before, so this is not completely unprecedented.

The Pac West being at 16 is exactly why this won't happen. The number was too big for them to manage (especially in a confernece that goes from Alaska to Hawaii to Arizona). Remember, the athletics budgets for DII schools are smaller, so having to go to Hawaii AND Alaska puts a huge crimp on a school's budget.
