This arrangement allows most schools and fans to travel a short distant to help fill the stadium with fans at opposing teams home. This could help all schools from falling below 15,000 and keep travel cost down.

The reason I put Texas st, North Texas, and Lamar in the SWC over the La schools is because those Texas schools are wealthier and could afford to keep up with the Memphis, UH, UTEP, level.

I disagree. Monroe is the smallest school public/7,000 and only 30 miles from La-tech. So far Monroe has done ok but when Lamar and UTSA join football, it'll dillute the talent pool further. Monroe will suffer the most.

Big East don't seem interested in Memphis, much less UAB.

Memphis is a maybe. A lot depends on what direction the BE will go. Certainly, if the BE splits and only adds from CUSA, them Memphis will be considered with ECU and UCF. UAB is not on the radar.
