Freaked,
The blogger suggested kicking out Indiana. While conferences are not perfect in design, they aren't receptive to goofy ideas found on the Internet.

Lets say that Lake Forst moves up to D1 and Chicago decides to readd football. Would one of those two teams be reconsidered?

No

Quite true. Unless there were some colossal government takeover of the NCAA, we more or less know exactly WHAT schools COULD make a move to a new conference at a BCS level. We can narrow it down to usually a handful of schools but for some conferences there are some options. But we do know that some schools are 20-30 years away from even being in the discussion.

My memory is very fuzzy on this but I remember reading or hearing back around the time of the ACC raid that there were rumors of a few informal talks between a couple of BE presidents and a few Big 10 schools. This was before the BC left for the ACC and talks of a 16 team BE. The rumored schools were Indiana and Northwestern.

This would have given the BE 10 teams
BC-Su
Pitt-WVu
RU-UConn
UCinn-UL
Ind-NW

Obviously nothing came of it and I doubt they were really true in the first place so I'm not sure why I'm bringing it up anyway.
