Here's a link, there is no article, only the word of the staff. They have a helmet already. (Under future college teams section)

New Team for 2011

LEMOYNE-OWEN

Although I have not been able to locate any published announcement from the college, I have received word from employees of Lemoyne-Owen College that the school will be starting an intercollegiate football team, and that a helmet design (shown above) has already been chosen for use by the team.

Freaked, maybe you can find more on this

Fresno St Alum, thanks for the research invite.

Lemoyne-Owen is a member of football sponsoring D-2 conference SIAC,link to conference site at http://thesiac.com

The athletic department page on the official school site does not list football as a sponsored sport but does have a poll question asking whether or not the school should sponsor a football squad. Link at http://www.loc.edu/Athletic/Poll/poll.asp

Thanks

Yes freaked I know they are in the SIAC where currently 10 of the 13 schools sponsor football. I meant for you to see if you could find an article talking about them adding football. I should have been more clear. I have a notebook with every D-I,D-II,D-III,NAIA,NCCAA,&USCAA conf. school and nickname. The hardest things for me on that are finding Div. move ups or Conf shifts usually at the D-III level.

Fresno St Alum, thanks for the post.

I kinda figured that you knew about this school. However,I added additional info for the 99% or MORE of the board members who never heard of the place or thought it was back east.

I also added the poll which apparently indicates that they have not decided yet whether they will indeed add football.

Besides,thats all I could find,so far.
If I find more info I will post it.

Thanks
