D-III and NAIA Conference Realignments

Ok, since I'm going through on Wikipedia and taking care of some of the smaller college conference realignments, I'm going to start what (theoretically) will be keeping track of conference switches for the 2009-2010 academic year and going onward. The list will take some time (I'm still on Alabama and already have a couple that weren't on here or there), but I'll go through and edit the list to keep it up to date. If you have any changes I don't have on here (I'll initially post what state I'm working through, so give me a few days to get further down the list), please post them here (preferably with a link), and I'll put it on the list.
NOTE: I have now broken up the list into years, since we are well underway into the 2009-10 school year.

D3hoops.com is good at keeping up with current conference alignments. Click on a region and it will tell you where everyone is. Problem is it doesn't tell you about who is going to switch conferences for the next year and so on.

You're definitely on top of this! I think Spalding did move into the SLIAC last year, I remember seeing on Spalding's letterboard outside of campus (I ride by their campus all the time going from UofL to home) that I believe women's hoops were conference champions. I'm not sure of the sport, but I do remember they won their tourney. I'm only on Colorado right now on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_college_athletic_programs_by_U.S._state, so it will take me a little bit of time to go through everything and organize it both via conference on here and on Wiki, but every conference that exists between 'Bama and Colorado I've taken care of right now.

I've got most of the stuff you have down there up and organized, but I can't find any confirmation on SUNY-Morrisville, Reinhardt, Rio Grande, Truett-McConnell, or Simon Fraser moving. Park (MO) is in the Midlands Conference right now, and I haven't found anything on the web about them moving either.

Tarkio, Simon Fraser has to be approved the others are moving. I wouldn't put it in my note book unless I read a print up about it. The years I'm not always clear on some in 2009 some 2010.

Park(MO) was D-I Ind basketball, they are moving to AMWC

I didn't know about OLLU joining the RRAC I thought they'd join one of the 2 conf. in the area

You're right about Simon Fraser, for some reason I was thinking GNAC was something else instead of the Great Northwest.

I had checked both school and conference websites and found nothing, but especially with the smaller conferences some of them don't get updated for a LONG time, so I'll take your word for it.

The RRAC site is in sever need of updating, but if you look at OLLU's athletics site, they have the RRAC logo on the site, and their soccer schedules are up with conference games denoted. I don't think they have basketball yet, but if they were aligned with the Red River in all the sports they are in, I'd assume they would be a full member in the process of adding more sports.

Kentucky Christian is in the Mid-South for all sports, and they are starting a football team this year. I'd assume with the unbalanced divisions in MSC fb (8 East, 5 West), they'd move one team (presumably Campbellsville) over to the West to balance things out better. This may not be the case, as the "East Division" is more like a North Division, with the Kentucky/WV based all-sports members, along with 2 Appalachian teams from KY and VA. The "West Division" are all the southern associate schools, from Tennessee to Georgia to Mississippi. I also don't know if Rio Grande has football, that could change a lot alignment-wise.

Lake Erie is in Year 3 of transition, while Lambuth and ODU are in year 2 where they're dropping NAIA affiliation, which is why those 2 are on the list while LE isn't. I also don't want to put the schools applying for D-II membership up until they're accepted.

June 12th is also significant, that's the day the Mid-America votes on whether to accept Rockhurst.

Rio Grande does Not have football. Truett-McConnell & Park will be verified for all of us on the NAIA 2009-10 qualification plan by Sept. The problem is we read these articles about teams moving months ahead of time then when you need to find it months later, nothing. Park was back in Feb. TMC just probable.

What's odd to me is that KCU is non-scholly for all but football I think. The MSC will kill them. The KIAC in NAIA D-II seemed to be a better fit, but hey.

St.Thomas(TX) is starting basketball this year and is an NAIA Ind. It would make sense for them to join the RRAC to put them at 12 bkball members.

St. Thomas is awaiting approval from the RRAC, they have already applied and are waiting on a vote from the Conference, much like Rockhurst is for the Mid-America. If they do accept Rockhurst, that puts them at 10 fb/12 bb schools, which leaves a possibility of them accepting 2 more fb and 2 more non-fb schools to go to 12 fb and 16 bb.

I believe KCU is working their way towards scholarships, probably one of the stipulations for being accepted by the MSC. The travel is also quite a bit more compact than the KIAC, rather than the Kentucky's trips to Cincinnati, Richmond, IN, & St. Louis, the farthest non-fb trips are to WVU-Tech and Campbellsville.

Lincoln(MO) is the 12 member for the MIAA already. They go back in 2010.
