OK guys, I need your help...

I was trying to research the exact BCS rules, to reread the famous "BigEast" (12 ranking average) and "NotreDame" (finish in top ??) rules, and found my archive to these rules was just a good newspaper summary story, and no longer present on the web.

Then I tried to find an official BCS site. Searched for both BCS things and "Bowl Championship Series" things, and came up with nothing....

Do any of you die-hard sports info junkies have any good sites or links to recommend. Love to find an official copy of the BCS rules.

Today I am feeling a little incompetent...
??? ??? ???

BlackGold, Try this link. Look at the side bar & click on "BCS" under "About the . . ."

Thanks BlackGold and FriarFan. Both these resources were helpful. :)

Interesting, though that both these sources are interpretations by private individuals.

There is evidently no public posting of the official rule document anywhere on any public site. Perhaps the arcane masters of BCS mystery don't trust mere mortals to read the document themselves...

Or perhaps they are changing it or fine-tuning it too frequently? ::)

I'm going to change the original title of the thread to read:
"Where are the original BCS rules posted?" to catch more people's attention, cause I'm really curious about this now.... ???

Javaman, here is theo "official" BCS site. But they don't list the rules either. It seems more like a promotional site.

www.espn.go.com/abcsports/bcs/

BTW, every time I read one of your posts now, I want to go get a cup of that good tasting Joe for myself. :D

Finally, a true site! Thanks :)

Notice the motivation to educate the public finally dawned on them!. Here is a quote from the recent news stories:

The BCS will try to educate the public about the purpose of its system through a new Web site (www.bcsfootball.org).

"I would remind everyone that this structure … grows out of desires not to create a playoff but to create a No.
1-vs.-No. 2 game in the bowl structure," Delany said.

No further comment necessary ::)

Well, here's an important modification to the above. The darn site has no official rules or "codicils" posted, and no email for feedback. They are still quite out of tune with reality... :-/
