Ok, well if I'm the PAC-10 Commisioner and it's 2010 I obviously need to expand. And how do I expand? I take out my Western rival, The Mountain West. I take Utah and BYU. I leave Colorado alone. I don't need Colorado. The MWC is a huge threat to the PAC-10 and we just move quickly to stop it.

I don't think the MWC is a threat to the Pac-10 at all. The MWC has 3 teams in or just outside the Denver market, yet colorado owns that market. Denver is the crown jewel market for the Pac-10 for the west, followed by SLC. But neither seems to provide enough cache to make the $$$ work. The Pac-10 might actually be fine at 10 if they can get a deal close to the ACC deal with ESPN. Face it, the Pac-10 offers better markets than the ACC, so it's not a stretch.
