Here's a starting point if one doesn't exist. Can likely reiterate points made on other threads to this one.

CSUSM was rejected by D-II last year. They start basketball in 2011. You might see 1 more rejection this year with admission in 2011. Also CS Chanel Islands is sounding like they are getting closer to starting sports and also plan to join the CCAA. UC Merced is not as close as CSUCI to starting.

Currently, the GSC is made of up 14 schools. Six of the GSC schools — Arkansas-Monticello, Arkansas Tech, Harding, Henderson State, Ouachita Baptist and Southern Arkansas — reside in Arkansas. There has been speculation over the past few years that the Arkansas schools might leave the GSC to avoid traveling to a place like Valdosta, which is over 500 miles away

All my proposed changes for Division II.

As to what a 15-member MIAA could look like divisionally?

East:
Central Missouri
Lincoln (MO)
Missouri S&T
Missouri Southern State
Missouri Western State
Northwest Missouri State
Southwest Baptist
Truman State

West:
Chadron State
Emporia State
Fort Hays State
Nebraska-Kearney
Nebraska-Omaha
Pittsburg State
Washburn

And there is room for a 16th as well, but there's no other school available, so...

bige,
I believe this link is from August 2009. I know they started "gathering information" regarding moving to D2 as a conference at that time.

http://m.timesdaily.com/td/db_3810/cont ... &full=true. Here's another post on the gulf south conference breakaway arkansas schools. Also as I stated before UNA, West Georgia, Valdosta State, Delta State and West Florida when they start there program will move up to D-1AA or FCS. UNA just approved tuition hikes and braly stadium is doing a make over.

The presidents of six of Arkansas’ NCAA Division II colleges - Arkansas Tech, Arkansas-Monticello, Southern Arkansas, Harding, Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State - have entered into formal discussions with three Oklahoma-based schools in the Lone Star Conference about forming a new league.
Arkansas-Monticello Chancellor Jack Lassiter identified the three Oklahoma schools as Southeastern Oklahoma State, Southwestern Oklahoma State and East Central University on Tuesday.
