This guy doesn't get it. They need more members that play football. Georgia St aint coming and the 3 he wants don't have football.

They NEED Kennesaw St. for 12 since they are starting football. If they want 14 they should get on the phone with D-II power Valdosta St. who I bet would be willing to go if/when UNA goes D-I. Half of the GSC left anyway and VSU would be in a conf. with 4 or 5 football teams. It would also help if they could get Campbell to add schollies.

Would be good additions, even as D2 upgrades.

Also FSA, will be interesting to see how the Asun/Big South turn out in regards to private and public membership, as well as football vs non-football. In the perfect world, you'd be able to through all the Asun, Big south and Socon schools on the table and just move them around to form conferences of non-football, football, or privates and non-privates, etc. Same argument with the Socon and CAA.

either way, the Asun might have enough schools sooner than later. Not many, but close to the 6 needed.

I must have selective dyslexia. I've called gsohokiefan, go-hokies-fan, my mind must have wanted to see go hokies. No one wanted to correct me? It takes me coming back from a long day trip to Monterey, for my daughter's 2nd b-day, and reading this at 12:30 AM to realize his actual name.

I must work better at night. Side Note: I took my IQ test at 12:30AM and got a 135 out of 144. The max score could be 160 but you had to be under 13 to score over 144.

Also of note, Stony Brook has re-enlisted with Big South Football through 2015.

I guess they figure that momentum for any sort of FCS conference in the Northeast (or those schools such as themselves, Fordham, Albany, etc. getting invited to the CAA) was going to happen only on hte kind of intense schedule pressure normally reserved for the Big East (i.e. "Don't hold your breath !").

I'm not sure this is the first time that LIberty (Jerry Falwell U.) has tried to get everyone excited about going "big-time".

Back in the 1980s, they hired Sam Rutigliano to coach - it seemed like a strange move for Rutigliano.
I think he had been recently fired by the Cleveland Browns after a decent run in the NFL behind QB Brian Sipe.
Maybe he took hte Liberty job out of a friendship with Falwell....
