Newport News doesn't count as a D-III fb only member anymore? They are USCAA for other sports.

I was not aware of them previously as a D3 Independent. I searched for D3 football programs in Virginia at NCAA.org (http://www.ncaa.org/wps/wcm/connect/public/NCAA/About+the+NCAA/Who+We+Are/) but it did not list Newport News Apprentice.

Wikipedia says:
Quote:
The Apprentice School fields six Division III-Level athletic teams, but because it does not grant degrees, it is not affiliated with the NCAA or NAIA.

. . . although, football players are participating in a D3 all-star game:

What's the history of affiliation for The Apprentice School? Do they count as a D3 opponent?

Thanks,

They used to count as a D-III opponent. So did Trinity Bible. Helmet project has both of them listed as unaffiliated along with Concordia(AL)

Just so you guys are in the loop, we're soon to have a dedicated NAIA forum here. Gopherhawk is moving all his great stuff over here. Made sense to create a dedicated forum for him to put everything and keep the discussions there.

If you think we should make D2 and D3 dedicated forum, PM me and let me know. will just need someone to moderate (which is mostly to just keep an eye on it).

Quinn -

Would it make sense to change the name of the "General NCAA Conference Realignment Forum" to "College Conference Realignment Forum", and then have the tabs under there be:

NCAA D-1 FBS (BCS) existing
NCAA D-1 FBS (non-BCS) existing
NCAA D-1 FCS / non-football (other conferences) existing
NCAA D-II
NCAA D-III
NAIA

What do you think ?

Quinn, here's the wiki link to all the D-I and D-II conferences along with the map.

You're doing a thread for every conf. right?

No, no need on my end. If people want it, ya'll can create them. I'll make dedicated D2 and D3 forums though. This thread will just be renamed D3 and moved to the D3 one.

The D-3 USASAC (USA South Athletic Conference) had give 3 football affiliates an invitation to become full members; response required by May 1.
2 (Piedmont, LaGrange) said YES. The 3rd school (Maryville College) hadn't responded at the time of LaGrange's reply.

Anyone heard anything ? I did a google search and came up empty.
