SBD article with comments from several FBS conference commissioners.Sounds like there is still no support for a FB playoff and very little support for a "plus one" scheme.
Also,Big Ten Commish says that 12 team conferences will likely become "the model".
Will we see more pressure put on conferences like the Big 12 minus 2 and the Big East to move towards "the model"?

Surprised no one else has posted this ---

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=6479279

While I can't really comment much on the merits of this step, I did have one observation to make:

Quote:
Bill Hancock, the BCS executive director, was confident the current system complies with the law.

"Goodness gracious, with all that's going on in the world right now and with national and state budgets being what they are, it seems like a waste of taxpayers' money to have the government looking into how college football games are played," he said.

This is, quite possible, the most disingenuous statement Mr. Hancock has ever made, and he's made some doozies. The BCS Bowl system handles hundreds of millions of dollars every year, the bowls themselves enjoy tax-exempt status, a major financial scandal has been uncovered at one of the participating bowls -- nope, I can't think of a single reason why any government agency would be interested in the financial aspects of the BCS system

I hear ya. It's the same stance I've actually seen in the media by many. Which is unreal because it it were a different industry, there would have been government intervention already. We're talking hundreds of millions of dollars each year...it is a big deal.
