A birdie told me BSU is probably going to the Big West and likely bringing #14 in the BE w/ them. That cuts it down to Fresno or UNLV if true. I sure hope they don't go the CUSA route on no talent on the field and just add a freakin' market that aint even much bigger than ours.

I don't know the birdie personally so don't read more into it that what Katz said. He thinks he has all the right connections but I say he's guestimating.

Katz also hinted at BSU begging BW again

So am I reading this right...the remaining all-sports (non-football) members of the WAC will be Idaho, New Mexico State, Seattle, Denver and Boise State? Am I missing schools?

Gotta wonder why so many writers comment that Idaho should drop down to FCS (Big Sky) and never mention NMSU dropping down to Southland (FCS).

For Idaho, they are in the footprint of the MWC and Big Sky, and MWC says they have no interest (then again things change) -

The BE used to look down on CUSA, and now it IS CUSA.
Similarly, the MWC used to look down on the WAC, and now it IS the former WAC.

So if the MWC needs a school to expand to an even number, they might talk to Idaho. Right now MWC has told Idaho, don't call us, we'll call you....

NMSU left the Sun-Belt in 2003 ? (with USU and Idaho), and this helped the Sun-Belt rationalize their geography.
Now with the Sun-Belt having 2 Texas schools, NMSU wouldn't be such an out-lier, either geographically or competitively.
OK, Las Cruces, isn't much of a market.... If Sun-belt needs an FBS school, and doesn't want to wait throught the transition from FCS, maybe NMSU gets a phone call...
Not too far-fetched !
