We've seen Bryant join up. Here's a starting thread for any future changes...

If C.Conn St. goes to the AEC then NJIT would have a spot in the NEC.

With LeMoyne looking at D-I, I see them as the 10th member of the AEC now and NJIT will be stuck in the GWC for awhile

possible changes to the NEC if a new conference is formed around football (because of different philosophies on scholarships between conference members).

There's an article on the csn board today asking URI to comeback to the CAA for football. That would give them 11.

Robert Morris blog regarding NEC football losing Albany, and potentially losing URI FB and potentially losing CCSU (for all sports) -

CCSU for all sports to the CAA? So C of C, CCSU and ??? Davidson? UNCG? I figure it's not a fb school if URI plans on staying. CCSU would be #12.

The blog suggested CCSU to the CAA for all-sports.

But the other possibility is CCSU to AE / CAA FB.
With BU gone, AE is down to 8 schools, and likely looking to expand.
They are a collection of Northeastern public schools.
CCSU would "fill the bill". But they'd need to join CAA FB, which is currently at 10.
If URI decides to remain in CAA FB, addition of CCSU would make a dandy 12.

I still wonder if Northeastern (no longer plays FB, and a geographic out-lier in the CAA) might be happier moving back to the AE.
I think their original move to the CAA was football-motivated.
The BB money in the CAA is far better than in the AE, but Northeastern has to spend a lot move in travel, and that's only going to get worse if they are travelling to the Carolinas a lot.

I could see CCSU and Quinnipiac moving to AEast with CCSU football moving to CAA.

I know Bryant was on the list for AEast possible expansion, but with all the AEast football playing schools in the CAA now I do not think Bryant becomes an option anymore.
