Very interesting what is happening at Grambling.

I think the author is perhaps a bit out of touch, though.

At some FBS institutions, players are engaged in a rather quiet protest over possibly some type of subsidy for non-academic costs they incur.

At Grambline, we're talkig about an FCS school with an absolutely "shoe-string" budget risking hte health of their athletes by not even providing
the most basic sanitary conditions. Who could possibly blame the kids for stepping up and saying "Enough is enough !" ?

Staph infections are no joke. Cleveland browns went through this a few years ago. Notably Kellen Winslow Jr. got an infection that he had a hard time shaking.
The bacteria apparently had a nice home, as he Browns training facility was built on / next to a sanitary landfill.

There are other things going on at Grambling too. Popular head coach Doug Williams was fired after 2 games this year, as Grambling's losing skid went into double-digits.
Williams son is QB, and not sure if that was supposedly the result of favoritism.
The college president installed an interim coach named Geroge Ragsdale, who the players hated, and referred to as 'a snake".
Following this weekend's forfeit, a new head coach former Steeler Dennis "Dirt" Winston takes over.
Not sure if he players will see him as part of the problem or part of the solution.... stay tuned.
