Makes sense. Might be able to get a bidding wat...or even 2 networks to tema up in a rotations...say FOX gets (2) playoff games with ABC getting the championship, alternating each year.

It would make sense to split the contract seeing as the idea was to put the 6 big bowls all on New Year's Day. ABC/ESPN could certainly air 6 games in one day between its family of networks. FOX could too but it would require airing half of those bowls on FX.

The plan I saw had 3 games (including semi-final #1 and I think the Orange) on New Year's EVE and 3 games (including semi-final #2 and the Rose) on New Year's Day.

Then the NC game approximately one week later.
