I don't know if C-USA has any reason to worry. Sun Belt schools have no problem wanting in on the conference, and those midwest/mid-south schools looking to get into FBS want to bypass the MAC as much as possible (Illinois State, Appalachian State, James Madison, Missouri State), steering them into that Sun Belt-to-CUSA tour of duty, or like Charlotte and ODU, a straight-to-CUSA call-up (this is what, I suspect, most/all of that list and UDel and NDSU want).

The problem C-USA will have isn't numbers, but inventory. I know schools like Rice and Tulane have not had the nicest things to say about the Big East, but I don't think C-USA is quite their ilk anymore. I know Tulsa and UTEP would rather be elsewhere, and we know the plight of ECU and USM. These smaller state system schools will certainly be stood up by networks in favor of more established and known programs.

It's AMAZING how much they have avoided East Carolina. I still figure after the ACC expands ECU will have a spot. I know UMass might get in ahead of them but after that? Tulsa, Marshall, USM?

Since the Big East took two schools I am going to guess that C-USA is just going to hold at 12 rather than go after the Sunbelt.

What's the fun in that? MTSU and JMU to CUSA.

They should go UMass and Buffalo.

Yeah, what's the fun in that. If MTSU goes to CUSA then maybe I can get Appalachian State in the Sun Belt. Been trying for years to predict upgrade for Happy Appy.

Funny that with all the changes, the Big East is now CUSA, and CUSA is starting to look like the "new east coast" conference we talked about for years, a home for FCS upgrades and some Sun Belt schools from the region. All they need is to add Umass and Buffalo and you'd have all the schools talked about years ago.

The mysterious "Sources" say MTSU is next to come to CUSA.

Yeah, MTSU was bound to happen. I'm hearing the next spot is up in the air: FAU, WKU, NMSU?

I have to wonder if the people in the MAC know so much more about this than anyone. Weren't people clinging to MTSU-MAC as almost gospel-like truth? They didn't do a thing, and, surprise-surprise...when C-USA gets raided, there's MTSU.
