Reports from Reporter Paxton that CCSU and Bryant turned down offers to AEast before UML received the invite.

If this is true I am surprised that CCSU turned them down. They must not have been able to negotiate a CAA FB invite to accompany the AmEast invite.

You'd think they could at least get a Big South invite like Monmouth.

If the AEC added Bryant, CCSU, they would have had the 6 needed to sponsor fb. But like the Summit vs MVC, CAA could have just added Albany and Stony Brook for all sports, killing it.

"But with the latest round of conference musical chairs opening a spot in a league with an automatic bid for basketball, NJIT is expected to push hard to join either the NEC or the America East Conference, according to an individual familiar with the school’s thinking.
