Where are you getting this ?

NJIT was the only Great West team not invited to join the WAC (because NJIT is SO FAR East)...
We've heard they have been trying to make friends with AE, NEC, etc.
They have not received any invitations YET, but should not give up.
With the C7's imminent raid on the A-10 approaching, there is likely to be some upheaval in the A-10, CAA, AE, NEC, etc.
This could all work to create an opening for NJIT. So they would be wise to continue to make friends, invest in facilities, and sit tight.

NJIT has appearantly been turned by AE for lack of facilities and the unwillingness to expend sufficent funds in its sports program.

I also believe this has happened with the NEC.

Any idea what NJIT's athletic budget is and how it compares to the NEC? I feel like once the Catholic 7 fallout shakes out the NEC might not be able to be as choosy about who they add

NJIT can still be in D-I for most sports if they have either the Prudential Center or the Izod Center for its men's & women's basketball teams as its adequate arena/facility. That would help the school's chances to be invited by an athletic conference within its area.

By my count, NEC lacrosse is going to fall to 5 members (Rbt Morris, Bryant, Mt St Marys, Wagner, and Sacred Heart), 1 below the NCAA minimum of 6. With ECAC LAX blown apart by the the announcement of Denver to the Big East and the creation of Big Ten LAX I wonder if the NEC would be willing to take in at least Hobart as an affiliate. Bellarmine might be able to play with the southern schools in the A-Sun/SoCon league; Fairfield probably brings their team home o the MAAC. hard to say what AFA could do.

For the 2013-14 season or the 2014-15 season? And which conference are the St. Joe's Hawks are current affiliated for lacrosse?

The upcoming 2014 season...they're leaving CAA. Have to wonder what happened to cause that one...

Likely a matter of level of competition. StJ fits better in the NEC than the CAA for sure.

Very likely, although CAA didn't exactly fill PSU's spot with an enhancement. Maybe St. Joe's didn't want to be the only PA program in the conference, which they'll get a "partner" in RMU. The travel's a lot better now for them, that's for sure.

I'm more curious about how the CAA moves forward. Stay at six? Go back to seven?

I'm wondering if the ECAC falls apart by the end of the summer. If AIr Force and Bellarmine move to the Atlantic Sun now, the CAA could pick up Ohio State and Michigan for 2014:

Penn State
Ohio State
Michigan
Massachusetts
Delaware
Towson
Drexel
Fairfield
Hofstra
