Only M.Georgia St., Lincoln Christian, Washington Adventist bring basketball. TAMUT and Trinity Lutheran don't have it. While Winnipeg is for baseball only.

As "explained" in the article, things went downhill after the proposed merger of Virginia Intermont and Webber International fell through.

I have Webber International located in Florida, fielding athletics teams in the NAIA "The Sun" Conference (which strikes me as an odd merger).

Was the plan for VI to become "Webber International - Virginia" or something like that ?

No they would have still been VI. Webber bailed out some other schools, I forget which, they were talking about it on the NAIA board.

U-Wisconsin- Superior's application to the UMAC was accepted.
They will be switching from the D-III WIAC (all U of Wisconsin satellite schools) to the D-III UMAC (mostly Minnesota Schools).

Wisconsin - Superior was the only school in the WIAC not to sponsor football. Not the case in the UMAC.

Not sure if this conference change is geographically favorable, neutral, or unfavorable.

Geographically I would say it is neutral to slightly favorable. From a school profile stand point this is a favorable move for UW-Superior. The rest of the UW schools are 6,000-10,000 enrollments with football. UW-Superior is around 2,000 students and no football.

Kind of significant since the WIAC had no conference changes for about 50 years. UW-Milwaukee leaving in the mid 60s was the last change.

The Senior Reports has just noted 2 NAIA moves:

1) Bacone (Oklahoma) is moving from the Red River Athletcis Conference (RRAC) to the Sooner Athletics Conference (SAC).
This move leaves RRAC with 13 and gives the SAC 10 schools (Bacone replaces an OK school that moved up to D-2).
The only remaining OK school in the RRAC is Langston; it would n't be a shocker if they were to make the same move in the future.

2) St. Ambrose (Iowa), the only football-playing school in the Midwest Collegiate Conference (MCC) will become the 15th school in
the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletics Conference (CCAC).
The MCC will have only 4 remaining schools - Viterbo (Wisconsin), and Clarke, Mount Mercy, and AIB School of Business (all in Iowa).
That's hardly a viable number.
I'm thinking perhaps the CCAC might take one more.
The others might petition to join another small conference like the North Star Athletic Assn. (NSAA) - 6 schools in the Dakotas
OR perhaps the Midlands Collegiate Atletic Conference (MCAC) - 8 schools in Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas.
Something will happen here - stay tuned.....
