A quiet plausible point, bige. Very pertinent, and becoming moreso.

With higher education funding, public and private, getting tighter while tuition rises, the maintenance mode appears across the board. Shifts could be, for awhile, more downwards than upwards, and this is referencing beyond Div. II.

I'd be suprised to see any school or conference take big gambles in this economic climate. Finances will be cited ever greater for whatever changes result.
