Hofstra will explore moving its intercollegiate athletic program out of the southern-based Colonial Athletic Association, persons familiar with the athletic program said Thursday. As expected, Umass and Penn State will join the CAA for Lacrosse in 2010. They are expected to be the solution for the inevitable losses of Villanova to the Big East and Sacred Heart and Robert Morris to the NEC.
